 For the creamy vanilla sauce:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 270 ml (1 cup + 1 tablespoon) milk
  • 30 g (2.5 tablespoons) flour
  • 25 g (2.5 Tablespoon) corn starch
  • 8 g (1 teaspoon) vanilla sugar
  • 60 g (4 tablespoons) sugar

 For the cake dough:

  • 2 eggs
  • A pinch of salt
  • 110 g (1/2 cup + 1 tablespoon) sugar
  • 100 ml (1/2 cup) vegetable oil
  • 110 ml (1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons) hot milk
  • 280 g (1.75 cups) flour
  • 16 g (2 teaspoons) of baking powder
  • 8 g (1 teaspoon) vanilla sugar
  • 1 apple, cut into thin slices
  • 50 grams of raisins
  • 22 cm mold
  • 1 egg yolk mixed with 2 tablespoons of milk



  1. We start by preparing the vanilla sauce.In a bowl, mix egg yolks, milk, flour, cornstarch, vanilla sugar and sugar until smooth. Put aside.
  2. To make the dough, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt until fluffy. Gradually add the sugar and continue beating until the mixture is light and fluffy.3. Slowly pour in the vegetable oil and hot milk and stir constantly.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and vanilla sugar. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms.5. Preheat your oven to 180℃ (356℉). Grease a baking tin (22 cm) and line it with baking paper.
  4. Pour half of the dough into the prepared pan.Place the apples and thinly sliced ​​raisins on the dough. Pour the remaining batter over the fruit, making sure it is evenly distributed.
  5. Carefully pour the pastry cream over the dough.

8.In a small bowl, whisk together  egg yolks and milk. Spread this mixture over the surface of the cake.

  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and set.
