1/2 cup grated cheese (preferably a mild cheese like mozzarella or cheddar)
OR
1/2 cup grated coconut (sweetened or unsweetened, based on preference)
Instructions:
Prepare the Custard:
In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, and cornstarch. Whisk until smooth and the cornstarch is fully dissolved.
Add the egg yolks and whisk well.
Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens to a creamy consistency. This should take about 5–8 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Assemble the Cups:
Pour the custard evenly into dessert cups while it is still warm.
Allow it to cool slightly at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2–3 hours, or until fully set.
Add the Topping:
Before serving, sprinkle grated cheese or coconut on top of each dessert cup. If using coconut, you can lightly toast it beforehand for added flavor.
Serve:
Serve chilled and enjoy this creamy and indulgent dessert!
