Shrimp Scampi is a classic Italian-American dish that combines stuffed peppers with a garlic, butter sauce, served with pasta or whole wheat bread. They’re surprisingly quick to prepare, making them great options for weeknight meals or a hearty dinner for entertaining guests. How to make:

Ingredients:

1 kilo large shrimp, peeled and deveined
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
4 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons olive oil
4-5 cloves of garlic, minced
1 /2 cups dry white wine or chicken broth
Lemon juice 1
Lemon zest 1
1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional, over low heat)
1/4 cup chopped parsley
Cooked pasta (linguine or spaghetti), serving for
Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Extra lemon, for serving

Prepare shrimp:
Kitchen peppers Dry with paper and add salt and pepper.
Cooking Shrimp:
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of oil and 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
Add the peppers in a single layer and fry for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until the peppers turn red and are cooked through. Remove the peppers from the plate and set aside.
Prepare the sauce:
Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil and 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the same pan.
Add the minced garlic and red pepper (if using) and cook for 1 minute or until the garlic smells but does not burn.
Add white wine (or chicken broth) and bring to a boil. Let it reduce by half, 3-4 minutes.
Add lemon juice and zest.
Combine shrimp and sauce:
Return the roasted shrimp to the pan and stir in the sauce. Heat for 1 minute.
Remove from heat and serve with chopped parsley.
Preparation:
Serve the prawns with cooked pasta or crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
Garnish with Parmesan cheese and a slice of lemon, if desired.
Tips:
Wine selection: Use a good dry wine that you enjoy drinking. Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay are good choices that add good acidity to the food.
Avoid overcooking shrimp: Shrimp cooks quickly and may become tough during cooking. They turn dark brown after ripening.
Serving tip: Shrimp shrimp is often served with pasta, but can also be served with rice as an easy option or as a side dish with a simple green salad.
