Watermelon Ginger Lemonade Recipe

 

 

 

Ingredients:

– 4 cups watermelon, cubed and seeds removed
– 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2-3 lemons)
– 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2-3 limes)
– 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, peeled and grated
– 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)
– 2 cups cold water
– Ice cubes
– Mint leaves (for garnish)
– Lemon and lime slices (for garnish)
– Watermelon wedges (for garnish)

Instructions:

 

1. **Blend the Watermelon:**
– In a blender, add the cubed watermelon and blend until smooth.
– Strain the watermelon juice through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove any pulp. Discard the pulp.

2. **Prepare the Ginger Syrup:**
– In a small saucepan, combine the grated ginger, honey (or agave syrup), and 1/2 cup of water.
– Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
– Remove from heat and let it cool. Strain the syrup to remove the ginger pieces.

3. **Mix the Lemonade:**
– Add the fresh lemon juice, fresh lime juice, and the ginger syrup to the pitcher with the watermelon juice.
– Add the remaining 1.5 cups of cold water and stir well to combine.
– Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more honey or agave syrup if desired.

4. **Serve:**
– Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the watermelon ginger lemonade over the ice.
– Garnish with mint leaves, lemon and lime slices, and watermelon wedges.
