– 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
– 4 large eggs
– 1 cup (240ml) vegetable oil
– 1 cup (240ml) milk
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
– 1 tablespoon baking powder
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup (100g) almond slices



1. **Prepare the Batter:**
– Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
– Grease and flour an 8-inch (20cm) round cake pan.
– In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
– Add the vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract, and mix well until combined.

2. **Add Dry Ingredients:**
– In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
– Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
– Gently fold in half of the almond slices into the batter.

3. **Pour into Pan:**
– Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, spreading it evenly.
– Sprinkle the remaining almond slices evenly over the top of the batter.

4. **Bake the Cake:**
– Place the cake pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
– If the top starts to brown too quickly, cover it with a piece of aluminum foil.

5. **Cool and Serve:**
– Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
– Transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely.
– Slice and serve the cake as is, or dust with powdered sugar for an extra touch.
