Cheesy Stuffed Meatballs

 

 

 

 Ingredients:

**For the Meatballs:**
– 1 lb (450g) ground beef
– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1 large egg
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1 teaspoon dried basil
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for stuffing)

**For the Sauce:**
– 2 cups marinara sauce
– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)

**For Garnish:**
– Fresh parsley, chopped

 

Instructions:

1. **Preheat the Oven:**
– Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. **Prepare the Meatball Mixture:**
– In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

3. **Form and Stuff the Meatballs:**
– Take a small amount of the meat mixture and flatten it in your palm. Place a small amount of shredded mozzarella cheese in the center and wrap the meat around the cheese, forming a meatball. Ensure the cheese is completely covered by the meat mixture. Repeat with the remaining meat mixture and cheese.

4. **Cook the Meatballs:**
– Place the meatballs in a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

5. **Add the Sauce and Cheese:**
– Remove the meatballs from the oven and pour the marinara sauce over them. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top.

6. **Bake Until Cheesy and Bubbly:**
– Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

7. **Garnish and Serve:**
– Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

8. **Enjoy:**
– Serve the cheesy stuffed meatballs hot, with additional marinara sauce on the side if desired.
