Smokey Robinson claims he had a “beautiful” year-long affair with Diana Ross during their marriage.

Legendary musician Smokey Robinson recently revealed a year-long affair with Diana Ross while he was married to his first wife, Claudette Rogers. In an interview with The Guardian, the 83-year-old icon highlighted the beauty of their relationship, explaining: “We worked together and it just happened. But it was beautiful.” The two,  friends since childhood, developed a romantic connection at a crucial time.

Robinson recalled their childhood together, growing up on the same street and in the same neighborhood as fellow iconic singer Aretha Franklin.Although Robinson had a  crush on Franklin as a teenager, his connection with Ross developed into something more significant. Neither of them made the first move and Robinson explained: “It just happened. “I wasn’t targeting her and she wasn’t targeting me either.”

However, the affair eventually ended when Ross expressed concern about Robinson’s continued love for his wife. As Robinson reflected on the experience, he realized that the affair deepened his understanding of love and challenged societal norms around monogamy.Addressing a long-standing rumor, Robinson laughed off the claim that he and Ross were Michael Jackson’s biological parents, saying, “You’re saying that Diana Ross and I had Michael? Oh  God! I’ve never heard that before, man! This is very good. It’s funny!”
