Sausage Soup

 

Ingredients:

1 pound ground pork, use less if desired
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
2 cups biscuit mix, such as Bisquick
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon onion powder
½ spoon
¼ cup optional milk, for balls

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 175°C. Line the baking tray with baking paper to prevent sticking and make cleaning easier.
In a large bowl, combine sauce, grated cheddar cheese, biscuit mix, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper. If your mixture seems dry or you like sausage balls, add more milk. Mix until well combined. It’s easy to use your hands to make sure the ingredients are combined properly.
Roll mixture into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet. Keep it about an inch thick as it will expand slightly as it cooks. Place on a baking sheet in the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. The sauce should be hot, the cheese should be melted and easily accessible.
Remove the sausage balls from the oven and let them cool slightly on a rack before serving. It can be served warm or at room temperature.
