Variations and ideas
Use low-fat cottage cheese and Greek yoghurt instead of butter for a healthy alternative. Sprinkle red pepper flakes or a spoonful of hot sauce over the cheese mixture to warm it up. If you like hot peppers or imitation crab, you can use chopped red peppers to season the crab meat. Before baking, add another layer of mozzarella cheese over the leaves for a version.
