Homemade KFC Style Fried Chicken

Replicating KFC’s traditional fried chicken at home can be a delicious project! Although the ’11 Herbs and Spices’ recipe is a closely guarded secret, you can make a delicious, easy-roast chicken with natural herbs and buttermilk marinade. Here’s a KFC chicken-inspired recipe you can try at home. 977:
teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon ground ginger
3 teaspoons white pepper (KFC finger key)
1 teaspoon MSG, the right choice
For frying:
Vegetable oil for frying

Ingredients:
Large Cup 9 .
Place the chicken pieces in the buttermilk mixture, cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. This process helps process and cook the chicken.
Prepare the topping:
In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, thyme, basil, thyme, celery salt, black pepper, dry mustard, paprika, garlic salt, ground ginger, white pepper, and MSG (if using).
Soak each piece of chicken in buttermilk and let excess water drain off. Dip the chicken into the finished flour mixture until well coated. Remove excess flour.
Heat the oil:
Fill a deep fryer or large, heavy skillet with vegetable oil (at least 3 inches) and heat to 350°F (175°C).
Frying Chicken:
Carefully place the fried chicken pieces in groups into the hot oil. Bake for about 15 to 18 minutes or until chicken is golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 74°C (165°F).
Maintain oil temperature between 300°F and 325°F (149°C – 163°C) when frying. If it is too high, the lid will burn before the inside is cooked; If it’s too low, the chicken will absorb too much fat and turn it into fat.
Remove and do:
Use tongs to remove the chicken from the oil and transfer it to a cooling rack placed on a baking sheet to dry the chicken.
Before serving the chicken, let it rest for a few minutes to reduce the water.
Tips:
Change the taste: Change the spice mixture to your taste. KFC’s taste is different due to the use of white pepper and MSG, which adds umami. Crispy Tip: Double dipping (coating chicken in flour mixture, turning in buttermilk, then dipping again in flour) can create a crispy crust.
Safety first: Always be careful when frying. Keep a fire extinguisher on hand and never leave hot oil unattended.
Enjoy your homemade KFC fried chicken with side dishes like coleslaw, fries, or cookies for a complete southern feast!
