These Butter Caramel Pretzels have a perfect balance of rich caramel and peanut flavor and crunchy  pretzels. One of those delicious combinations that leaves you wanting more! Luckily, they’re super easy to make, so you can whip up a batch whenever you feel like it. Let’s see how they are made!You start  by making a simple homemade caramel sauce with butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup. The mixture cooks for just a few minutes and is then  poured over the pretzels. Stir well to  coat evenly, then place in a bag of candy chips. Next, place the mixture on a  baking tray lined with baking paper and place in the oven for 45 minutes. Stir halfway through so that it cooks evenly.

 INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (16 oz) bag pretzels
  • ⅔ cup butter
  • 1 ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 (8 oz) bag heather chips
  • ¼ cup roasted peanuts, finely chopped

 PREPARATION

1.Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the brown sugar, butter and corn syrup until boiling. Continue cooking for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.

3.Stir in baking powder and vanilla extract.

  1. Place the pretzels in a large bowl, pour the sauce over them and stir until evenly coated. Add the heather pieces.

5.Place the pretzels on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes, stirring halfway through.

  1. Remove the pretzel from the oven and sprinkle with finely chopped peanuts and stir.
  2. Let the pretzels cool and cut into pieces.Store in an airtight container.
